She is devoted to using her skills to make a positive impact on the community, both in her work and her free time.

“I was excited to find the administrative assistant opportunity at iRT because the role is aligned with my passion and my technical skill set,” Howard says. “I am passionate about bettering society through enhancing mental health, health equity, and providing education and tools to improve the overall wellness of communities, families, and children of all backgrounds.”

Howard is currently working towards a bachelor’s degree in nutrition science at North Carolina State University, and she hopes to become more involved in the field of research as it relates to nutrition, food security, and promoting overall health and wellness. She is excited to be a part of a team of multi-disciplinary researchers and creative professionals that share her drive and dedication to enhance the lives of youth, families, communities, and organizations.

As an administrative assistant, Howard provides technical administrative support to iRT’s business office and helps manage legal documents, compliance, technical documents, and business policies, among other tasks.

“Each staff member at iRT makes unique and valuable contributions to our mission to develop products, provide services, and conduct research of the highest quality,” said iRT President Dr. Janis Kupersmidt. “Jamila’s drive, technical skills, and desire to make a positive impact on the community have made her a valuable addition to our team, and we are thrilled to have her at iRT.”
