Mentoring Central to Present at the 2026 National Mentoring Summit
Mentoring Central’s researchers and program developers will be presenting and exhibiting at the upcoming annual National Mentoring Summit. The team is looking forward connecting with other attendees and sharing our recent research and available resources for mentoring programs.
The National Mentoring Summit, hosted by MENTOR, is a yearly gathering of mentoring program staff, researchers, investors, and more that provides opportunities to share best practices in the field of mentoring and make new connections. The 2026 Summit will be held February 4-6 in Washington, D.C.
Mentoring Central Research Scientist Dr. Rebecca Stelter will present a workshop, entitled, “Using Design Thinking to Create Impactful Mentor Training to Promote Teen Mentee Academic Success,” at the Summit with Miles Allen, Director of Friends of the Children. Together, they will discuss how Mentoring Central and Friends of the Children used a design thinking approach to develop advanced mentor training. Attendees will receive an overview of how the design thinking approach can be used by mentoring programs and have the opportunity to participate in a design thinking activity. Dr. Stelter and Allen will also discuss key strategies for mentoring adolescents to support their academic success and how to motivate and engage youth who have expressed disinterest in their school experience.
The Mentoring Central team will also have an exhibitor booth at the Summit where we will share information on our evidence-based trainings, resources, and services for mentoring programs. We would love to connect with you at the 2026 Mentoring Summit. If you are planning to attend, please stop by our booth to see us and chat about your work or your mentoring program.
